Original artwork

Wo Schatten, da Licht examines the inseparable relationship between shadow and light. Shadow does not appear as an opposing force but as a necessary presence through which light becomes perceptible.

Through an intentionally abstract interplay of contrasts, colour fields and lines, the composition creates a tension between revelation and concealment. Edges cut through the pictorial space while fine linear elements guide the viewer’s gaze beyond the visible surface.

The work invites viewers to understand seeing as an active process. Perception here emerges not through representation but through difference — beyond what is immediately visible.
